Throughout her career in public education, Superintendent Juneau has championed equitable access to quality education. She is deeply committed to ensuring each Seattle Public Schools student graduates ready for college, career, and community.

Superintendent Juneau actively leverages the strengths of the district to implement effective strategies that foster student achievement. Her experience spans the spectrum of education from classroom teacher to superintendent of public instruction for the State of Montana. She is an enrolled member of the Mandan Hidatsa Tribes, and a descendant of the Blackfeet Tribe, and the Tlingit and Haida Tribes.

Our department leads the district’s collaborative work in the areas of racial equity policy and practice and culturally responsive professional development. Seattle Public Schools is committed to the academic excellence and personal success of every student, in every classroom, everyday. Central to this commitment is ensuring educational and racial equity.

Equity, Partnerships and Engagement

The division of Equity, Partnerships and Engagement (EPE) is a service-oriented division that focuses on innovation and problem solving to elevate promising practices, build adult capacity and guide organizational development throughout all levels of the system. Incorporating our key strategies of authentic engagement, institutionalizing racial equity and leveraging partnerships, we manage the district’s high-priority initiatives to eliminate opportunity gaps. 
The Department of Racial Equity Advancement (DREA) leads the district’s collaborative work in the areas of racial equity policy and practice as well as culturally responsive professional development.
