DIVERSITY & EQUITY IN EDUCATION
2020-21 Campaign Partner
At the Clarke County School District, we believe in tomorrow. We believe by preparing students for the new and broadening opportunities ahead, we are strengthening our community. Our passionate faculty and staff work tirelessly to help ensure our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The CCSD has 21 schools and serves close to 14,000 students. We have 2,288 days to make a difference that will last a lifetime. We do not just count the days—we make the days count. Every student. Every classroom. Every day.
Our Vision & Mission
“Building a culture of high expectations and equity in which all students grow academically and socially to improve our community and our world.”
“The Clarke County School District is an ambitious community of learners in a diverse and culturally rich county. We are committed to equity and excellence through the implementation of rigorous standards in a safe and supportive environment — on every campus, in every classroom and for every child.”
Our Culture, Diversity & Equity
“The Clarke County School District is committed to creating a learning community where diversity is valued and equity is achieved. To that end, the following organizational core beliefs regarding educational equity shall be honoured in practice and policy in the Clarke County School District.
The elimination of institutional and historical inequities starts with the staff charged to serve the students of the CCSD, and as such, CCSD will provide on-going professional learning opportunities to support this endeavour.
Athens-Clarke County is a dynamic and diverse community of approximately 100,000 residents and is home to the University of Georgia. Athens-Clarke County is the education, cultural, shopping, and medical hub of the region, located about an hour from Atlanta.
The Clarke County School District serves approximately 14,000 students and is one of the largest employers in Athens. In recent years, our district has been recognized on the national and state level for excellence in early childhood education, advances in classroom technology, and services for students with special needs.
Athens-Clarke County residents have demonstrated their support for our schools in many ways, including the overwhelming passage of a special sales tax for education. These funds allow the Clarke County School District to provide additional resources including technology devices for students and teachers, enhance classroom technology, and renovate schools.
We offer competitive salaries, generous benefits, and outstanding support. Make a difference in Athens-Clarke County! See the employment opportunities below.
