Salisbury University consistently ranks among the nation’s top colleges and best values in U.S. News & World Report, Princeton Review, Kiplinger’s, Forbes and Money. Washington Monthly’s “Best-Bang-for-the-Buck” colleges ranks SU as No. 68 overall among master’s level universities and No. 102 among all universities in the Northeast.

The Seidel School of Education is home to a variety of graduate programs designed for students to attain greater mastery of their content, increase professional knowledge, and develop research skills through a lens focused on social justice and equity in education. Our curriculum is student-centered with our faculty working collaboratively with students both inside and outside the classroom to ensure their growth and lifelong success as educational professionals. To this end, we embrace the following core values:

OUR SCHOLARSHIPS & FELLOWSHIPS

  • Christopher Scholars Program

The Audrey C. Christopher Endowment for Education offers scholarships for full-time and part-time students pursuing a Doctoral degree in education. Eligibility includes demonstration of financial need and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • Diane D. Allen Scholarship

Named after former provost and senior vice president of academic affairs (2009-2017) at Salisbury University, this scholarship is designated to defray the costs of dissertation work of students in the Contemporary Curriculum Theory and Instruction in Literacy doctoral program.

  • Florence Simonds & John B. May Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a Master of Education Reading Specialist candidate who has completed two courses in the program and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. This award goes to candidates who evidence academic scholarship and a deep commitment to the teaching of Reading.

  • Good Neighbors Graduate Scholarship

This award allows eligible students to apply for support to cover a portion of the non-resident graduate tuition at Salisbury University at a discount equal to 75% of the difference between the resident and non-resident tuition rate. This discount is valid for graduate students currently residing in Delaware, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. metro region.

 

 

  • Holmes Scholars Program

Scholarships are available through our AACTE-affiliated Holmes Scholars Program for full-time or part-time graduate students. This program supports students who self-identify as racially and ethnically diverse. In addition to monetary awards, this program provides mentorship, peer support, and professional development opportunities through a national network of member institutions.

  • Rick Dudley Scholarship Fund for Graduate Students with Disabilities

This scholarship provides financial assistance for disabled scholars to continue the Dudley family’s abiding faith in the power of education to change lives. Awards are available for full-time or part-time graduate students.

  • Nationally Competitive Fellowships

Salisbury University’s Nationally Competitive Fellowships Office is dedicated to assisting students to compete for national fellowships and awards (from initial inquiry to application submission). The Chronicle of Higher Education and U.S. Department of State highlighted Salisbury University among the nation’s top producer of Fulbright students for two consecutive years.

  • Graduate Assistantships

Several paid assistantships are available for full-time graduate students. Teaching Assistants (TA) teach courses, lead discussions, meet with students, and provide instructional support to the programs they serve. Research Assistants (RA) assist faculty on research projects in labs and other settings. Graduate Assistants (GA) provide support for students with non-teaching and non-research efforts often in administrative offices. An assistantship may consist of a combination of these areas.
