About Charleston Charter School for Math and Science: Charleston Charter School for Math and Science (CCSMS)
provides a STEM focused education in a culturally diverse and experiential learning environment. CCSMS is a public
charter school educating 560 scholars in grades 6 to 12. We believe every child can reach their potential with the support
of compassionate adults, so we’ve created a school to nurture and engage different types of learners and thinkers. Our
community offers small class sizes and pioneering instructional approaches to shape innovators and forward-thinking

Overview of Position: Charleston Charter School for Math and Science is currently accepting applications for a High School
Math Teacher for the 2023-24 school year. We are looking for a candidate passionate about supporting scholar growth and
experience in a diverse middle school setting.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Facilitating the mastery of Math standards through direct instruction, small group work, and innovative
instructional strategies;
 Being a part of the CCSMS teaching staff and developing opportunities for collaboration across departments;
 Ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and assessment requirements;
 Communicate regularly with scholar families;
 Enthusiastically taking on other duties as assigned and proactively pitching in wherever needed to make each day
run smoothly and safely.
Education, Experience, and Skills desired:
 Bachelor’s Degree in subject area or related field.
 High School Certification or desire to complete necessary steps for certification.
 Experience with high school students.
 Experience developing and motivating teenagers with the belief that all scholars can learn and grow.
 Creative problem solver with a sense healthy sense of humor and a resilient spirit.
Requirements:
 Keep information confidential as required by law.
 Afterschool meetings with some periodic evenings and weekends, as needed.
 Background check as required by the State of South Carolina.
Salary: The Charleston Charter School for Math and Science pay scale is aligned with the local CCSD pay scale.
