About Charleston Charter School for Math and Science: Charleston Charter School for Math and Science (CCSMS) provides a STEM focused education in a culturally diverse and experiential learning environment. CCSMS is a public charter school educating 575 scholars in grades 6 to 12. Overview of Position:Charleston Charter School for Math and Science is currently accepting applications for a Scholar Concern Specialist for the 2023-24 school year. We are looking for a candidate passionate about supporting scholar growth and experience in a diverse middle and high school setting.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
○ Monitor designated areas/scholars assigned by the administration or designee within the school setting;
○ Maintain a degree of high visibility among scholars and staff;
○ Keep the administration informed of concerns and accomplishments within the assigned areas;
○ Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing scholar life and conduct including established safety rules and regulations; and,
○ Act as In-School suspension proctor to create and maintain an orderly and highly structured learning environment.

Education, Experience, and Skills desired:
○ 60 credit hours from an accredited university or college
○ 2-3 years experience working with children (may include coaching, summer camp or related experience)

Requirements:
○ Comply with FERPA and all federal and state confidentiality laws and mandated reporting laws
o Counsel with colleagues, scholars and parents/guardians on a regular basis
o Attend after school meetings with some periodic evenings and weekends, as needed
o Background check as required by the State of South Carolina

Salary: The Charleston Charter School for Math and Science pay scale is aligned with the local CCSD pay scale.
