Summary: The EMS Control Specialist is responsible for evaluation, repair, installation, re-commissioning, and maintaining of computer automated systems for the energy management control of the equipment and systems associated with building mechanical and lighting needs. is in contact with outside mechanical contractors, internal engineering staff, school Administrators and other CMS staff on a daily basis. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedure and policies of the work unit. EMS Control Specialist must have above average skills and knowledge to competently perform work on old outdated/obsolete as well as new cutting-edge equipment and systems. Under the direction of the Energy Manager, performs highly skilled work in the ongoing operational improvements necessary for the effective and efficient operation of Energy Management Systems (EMS). EMS facilitate the remote-automated computer control and monitoring of the operation of equipment and systems related to commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related lighting and electrical loads. The scope covers DDC and Pneumatic BAS controls of district wide mechanical and electrical equipment and systems in 600+ buildings and 1100+ Mobile Classrooms. Essential Duties:
