ABOUT BURLINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT
Burlington School District (BSD) is the largest, most diverse single-town school district in the state of Vermont. In School Year 2024-2025 (SY25), BSD served nearly 3,200 PreK - Grade 12 students across 12 centralized campuses and additional locations for Burlington Technical Center programs. This includes providing support for 465 PreK students through 51 different partner programs in the area. In SY25, Students in BSD came from homes representing 37 different first languages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Requirements:

    • Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
    • Endorsed or eligible for Vermont Provisional endorsement.
    • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications: 

    • Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
    • Knowledge of research based best practices that accelerate learning for all students
    • Experience effectively working with culturally and linguistically diverse groups.

Preferred Attributes / Skills: 

    • Training and/or experience with English Language Learners.
    • Experience in a professional/teaching learning community
    • Evidence of student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students meeting core proficiencies
    • Evidence of implementing inclusive practices for students with special needs.
    • Knowledge of assessments and use of data to inform instruction

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS/TERMS:

  • SALARY: As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association. This is a salaried position paid Bi-Weekly with a lump sum payment for the summer period.
  • SCHOOL YEAR: 10 months, 187 workdays (based on start date), 7.5 per day/37.5 per week
  • BENEFITS: Benefits eligible on start date. 30 days to enroll in coverage from start day. BSD Benefits!
  • PAID TIME: Sick Time / Personal Time As per the Master Agreement.
