Job Title Glazier I Location Upper Marlboro, MD, US Organization Name Building Services-Roofing/Sheet Metal Shop Department Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Glazier I replaces broken glass in metal and wood sashes, aquariums, greenhouses and other appurtenances. An employee in this class replaces broken glass in accordance with accepted standards and procedures of the trade. The employee exercises skill in the selection of the proper glass or Plexiglas used in the repair and in the use of proper procedures for sealing the glass in appliances, aquariums and other school fixtures or equipment. Brief Description This is an ACE/AFSCME, Local 2250 Position - Pay Table 200 - Grade 15 Hourly Range: $22.25 - $44.34 CLOSING DATE: May 6, 2024 Detailed Description DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Completion of ninth grade or trade school course supplemented by completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the trade; some experience in glazing work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator's License with driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle. (See Prince George's County Public Schools Bulletin A-26-85 dated October 8, 1984). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, and use fingers, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
